5月17日，中山石岐街道基边村、员峰村举行“起龙”仪式。“起龙”，将深埋河涌淤泥中的龙舟“起”出，修缮后用于端午节的龙舟比赛或巡游。这也意味着新一年龙舟时间的开始。

Dragon-boat-raising Ceremony
On May 17th，Jibian and Yuanfeng villages in Shiqi sub-district of Zhongshan held the Qilong Ceremony. Qilong is the traditional ritual of retrieving dragon boats submerged in riverbeds, and restoring them for Dragon Boat Festival races or parades. This ritual also kicks off the dragon boat racing season of the year.
